I'm supposed to do that ten things meme from
sherbert0lemon about myself. Maybe I will yet. But for now I'm going to do it about my NaNoWriMo novel.
- I have been planning this since at least first year, off and on. Before then it had several different incarnations, the only constants of which were William (the main good guy), Hunter's Call and Lantern (two of the towns), and the Pirates and Gypsies. Yup. Pirates. And gypsies.
- It's your basic epic journey fantasy/coming of age with all the good stuff - gods, heroes, horses ... but no prophecy if I can wrangle it.
- It starts with a prologue I'll probably post up here, which has almost nothing to do with the rest of the story and contains no information about the main characters.
- There are five parts to the world, but at the moment I only intend to visit four of them, and have only planned for three.
- The majority of the action so far takes place in the gypsy camp.
- There is a circus.
- The story centres around two brothers, Jack and William. They are twins and they hate each other.
- The main character is called Oliver, although in all my planning his name is Jake. In the end this was far too close to Jack for my liking.
- The main city is called Lantern, and it is a huge marble citidel which is slowly rotting away from the inside. It got its name because the marble shines so brightly that it is like a light even during the daytime. During the full moon the city is able to act as its own lighthouse.
- In the very first incarnation of this story (back before there was even a Jack) William was called Watcher and he lived in Atlantis. The story as it is now bears no resemblance to this whatsoever, and yet it was mostly developed from this original idea.
I've only got one more exam to go, so I'm desperately trying to get a job to pay my rent when Aunty Helen's allowance runs out. I don't, therefore, have high hopes for actually finishing this thing, but if I don't get a job it might be all I have to occupy my time, since the lack of funding will make me unable to go anywhere.
Anyway, see you later kids. I've got some words to write.

Like it? I think I could really get into this icon thing if I had, you know, unlimited free time. As it is, however, I'm due back at school tomorrow - at least, I think so. They still haven't put the times for Management lectures on the net. Which is seriously annoying.

Saw Caspian. It was awesome.
I'm worried, though. Here's the problem. Obviously, Caspian (or Ben Barnes, I should say) is super hawt. Seriously. But, as I was thinking about how I would have moved a lot more quickly if I had been in Susan's shoes (as in, I would have kissed him about three seconds after he said his name) an alarm bell started ringing in my head.
Sues!
I am seriously concerned. Narnia is going to go down the same route as the Harry Potter and LOTR fandoms, isn't it? I mean, they even have hotter actors. And you can have pretty much any sue-power under the sun in Narnia, since it doesn't follow very explicit rules. (In comparision to the two worlds mentioned above)
Perhaps it is already bad. I'm not venturing into the Narnia section of the pit for anything. I choose life.

I have a website! Here: www.bbsc303.com/leekimber
It's only a school website, for the computer course I'm doing, but it's still pretty neat. Besides, I spent ages getting the images to cycle like that so you can all enjoy it now and tell me how pretty it is ^^. I'll be adding more to it over the next week.
In other news: only one week now til I'm here. YAY!

Dear
paintmarks,
I don't really know how to tell you this, but you're a pervert. I think I realized it when I changed tennis shoes in women's clothing and I saw you ignore Manchester United's goalkeeper. I'm sure you're man enough to understand how awful I've felt. I'm returning our matching snoopy-bibs to you, but I'll keep your left ear as a memory. You should also know that I told my psychiatrist about a new life as a clone.
Go and drown yourself,

Your Superpower Should Be Manipulating Electricity |
![]() You're highly reactive, energetic, and super charged. If the occasion calls for it, you can go from 0 to 60 in a split second. But you don't harness your energy unless you truly need to. And because of this, people are often surprised by what you are capable of. Why you would be a good superhero: You have the stamina to fight enemies for days Your biggest problem as a superhero: As with your normal life, people would continue to underestimate you |
You Are Scooter |
![]() Brainy and knowledgable, you are the perfect sidekick. You're always willing to lend a helping hand. In any big event or party, you're the one who keeps things going. "15 seconds to showtime!" |
Meeeeme time.

Went to Opshop concert in Waitangi park. Was awesome. Nothing better than a free concert on a summer night, right? Right.
Also had first lecture for 2008 today, for structures. Not really looking forward to that paper very much. I hate structures. But at least the lecturer seems better than last year's model.
I also went to an introductory lecture for the art history paper that Liz has picked up. Art history is cool. I really wish I could have done another history paper this year but there weren't any that fit - will have to pick it up again next year. This year's papers are going to be a mission and a half.
Tomorrow is design and computers. At least it's only three papers per semester.
Later kids.
